Founded in 1877 from three sugar cane plantations located in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana, The J.M. Burguières Company, Limited has prospered as a land acquisition and holding company for nearly a century and a half.  In that time our family business has grown from its humble beginnings in agriculture to include surface leasing, mineral leasing, recreational leasing (e.g., hunting and fishing), cattle ranching, and, most recently, environmental restoration and land conservation through wetlands mitigation banking.  Today our property interests stretch across the south from Florida to Texas, continuing a long tradition of resource stewardship as our legacy to future generations.
